Melissa Roberts "MO!"


Melissa's career in gymnastics started at the age of ten when she joined a private club in Oshkosh, WI. After competing through level 9, she joined the high school gymnastics, diving and track teams. Melissa's talents in athletics led her to a Division 1 scholarship in diving at UW-Green Bay where she graduated with a BS in Business Marketing in 2004.

Upon graduating from college she took a full time job as Marketing Director and girls’ gymnastics coach at a green bay area gymnastics club. She enjoys coaching all kinds of gymnastics classes from preschool and school aged recreational gymnastics to competitive gymnastic teams. In addition to coaching in club gymnastics Melissa was privileged to coach at Lake Owen Gymnastics Camp.

Shortly after her summer experience at Lake Owen, Melissa played a key role in opening and running Aerial Gymnastics Academy for the past 4 years. Now again, she is taking a new and exciting step in her business and coaching career by opening Starz Academy.


Scott Burnoski

Starz Academy youth football camps are run by Scott Burnoski. He grew up in the Chicago area and went to high school at Rochester Century High School in Minnesota. He went to college at UW-La Crosse and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing.

In college he excelled in football, leading his team to three consecutive WIAC Conference Championships. He was named the WIAC Player of the Year along with All-American Honors in his senior year. He also holds most every major receiving record for catches, yards, and touchdowns at UW-La Crosse.

Professionally, he has had a number of tryouts with NFL teams including the Green Bay Packers and has played professional arena football for the Green Bay Blizzard and Milwaukee Iron. He is looking forward to helping kids develop their football and life skills during our camps.


Michelle Ysebaert
Office Manager

Michelle is the mother of four-year-old twin girls. When she's not at home keeping busy with her toddler twins we are lucky to have her as the face of our office and organization behind our gym events

Kathy Wilger

As a gymnast, Kathy competed at the optional level and started as a junior gymnastics instructor at the age of 14.

While in college Kathy started coaching compulsory teams as well as high school gymnastics. She has coached for over 25 years because of her love of gymnastics. Kathy graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in Business with a Marketing emphasis.

In addition to gymnastics Kathy also has over 11 years of experience teaching dance. Her goal is to help gymnasts and dancers reach their highest potential while having a fun and positive experience.

Kathy is a mother of four. Her son Nicolas is a level 9 gymnast, her son Joshua is a level 6 gymnast here at Starz and her daughter Natasha is a level 7 gymnast. Kathy is the head of our boys program as she coaches our Boys Team as well as our level 3 & 4 girls Team. Kathy is very versatile as she helps out wherever we have coaching needs.


Melissa Lopez

Melissa grew up across the street from Olympian Dominique Dawes. Following her suggestion, at 5yrs old she started training at Hill's Gymnastics in MD, the same gym where Dominique and several other Olympians trained. Melissa competed there through level 9, but was forced to stop after ankle surgery. From there she attended a performing arts high school where she began acting and went on to graduate from Florida Intl University in Miami, with a Bachelor's Degree in theater performance. Melissa is still working on pursuing her passion for acting and the entertainment world but she can't forget where she started and hopes to give gymnasts some of the same values that gymnastics taught her. Melissa currently coaches the Rising Starz and Super Starz and helps with the level 4-8 girls competitive team.

Kristin Nelson

Kristin competed as a gymnast for 12 years with Oshkosh Gymnastics Center, under Phyllis and Dale Hardt. She also was a member of the Oshkosh West High School Gymnastics Team in 1990-91.

In addition to her gymnastics career Kristin has extensive coaching experience having coached at Madtown Twisters Gymnastics in Madison, Wisconsin. Kristin’s professional career also includes being an office staff member at Oshkosh Gymnastics Center.

Kristin is also a mother of two. Her daughter Kaylin currently participates in the Rising Starz class and her son Andrew is a Twinkling Star. Kristin coaches the Super Starz class and is kind enough to help out with Competitive Team when she is needed.


Shelly Jensen
Preschool Program Coordinator/Coach

Shelly is a mother of four children. Shelly's daughter, Phoebe is currently on our level 4 team and her son Elliot is enrolled in our parent-child class and frequently attends morning play dates. Shelly has taken on the role of Preschool Program coordinator as well as coaching our preschool level classes and running play-dates. She is also in charge of making us all look great in our Starz apparel.


Courtney Kellner

Courtney grew up in the Manitowoc area and was very active in figure skating, dance, gymnastics and track. She competed in gymnastics 5th through 12th grade at Valders Middle and High School. Courtney has always had a love of teaching and just graduated from Silver Lake College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education – more specifically licensure in Learning and Cognitive Disabilities. Courtney currently coaches the Rising Starz class and looks forward to taking over the girls' level 3-4 recreational competitive team.


Melissa Stahl

Melissa started gymnastics at the age of 11 in Valders, WI. She competed all through high school at Valders High School specializing in the balance beam and floor exercise. Melissa currently attends the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, majoring in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Art. Melissa puts her artsiness to work by helping out at her family owned bakery back home. She has also started her intended career path by coaching Gleaming, Shining, Twinkling and Sparkling Starz.


Kasey Klavekoske

Kasey started gymnastics at the age of 9 in Manitowoc, WI. She continued competing all through high school at Manitowoc Lincoln High School and now attends the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. She is currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics with minors in Education and Spanish with the hopes of continuing to help youth as a Junior High or High School math teacher. Kasey is currently sharing her love of gymnastics by coaching Mighty, Sparkling and Twinkling Starz.


Rebecca Goss

Becky grew up in Cudahy, WI and participated in many sports growing up including Cheerleading, Diving and Gymnastics. Most recently she was a cheerleader for the Green Bay Packers and last summer traveled around the Midwest coaching at children's cheer camps. Becky currently attends the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and is double majoring in Human Development and Psychology.


Christine Skinner

Christine's love for gymnastics and dance started as a child where she grew up in Southern California. All throughout her childhood and during college she continued to participate in gymnastics, dance and cheerleading.

Christine is a mother of two. Her daughter Kendra competed on our level 4 Team this year. This year Christine stepped back from her large coaching role but loves to fill in as a sub and has recently discovered that she loves to host our birthday parties as well. Christine is also our website specialist.

Tish Blauert

Tish started her career in gymnastics as a child and participated in both recreational and competitve gymnastics.

Tish's love of gymnastics continued into her adulthood choosing coaching as her primary career path. She has coached in the Fox Valley and the Greater Green Bay area for 20+ years. Tish is currently pursuing a college degree from the University Wisconsin - Oshkosh.



Shelby Schuh

Shelby has been a gymnast most of her life and this year coached Shining Starz and Gleaming Starz classes. Shelby also took on the challenge of coaching the girls level 3 Recreational Team and has done a wonderful job!

If you see Shelby please wish her luck as she just graduated from West De Pere High School and was accepted at the University of Minnesota. We will miss her immensely but she is always welcome at her Starz home.


Abbey Barnes

Abbey Barnes began her gymnastics career at the age of 3 in the Green Bay area. At the age of 10 Abbey joined Aerial Gymnastics as a competitive gymnast.

Abbey competed as a level 8 gymnast for Starz this year. Taking a break from her intense training as a high level gymnast, she has stepped into more of a coaching role. Abbey attends West DePere High School and enjoys coaching the young level 4's and helps out subbing for any level class.

We are privileged to have Abbey in a Jr. Coaching role. A sister of 2 younger bothers and an avid babysitter Abbey has a gentle way of reaching younger children and encouraging them as they progress in the sport of gymnastics.



Nicholas Wilger

Nicholas started gymnastics at the age of 5 and started competing at the age of 7. He worked his way from Level 4 to currently, a Level 9 gymnast. In Level 6, he was a state champion, taking 1st all around and in level 7 placing in the top 5 places at regionals. Nicolas loves working with children and has helped with Vacation Bible School camps and Sunday school. Nicolas teaches the boys classes as well as helping coach the boys team.

Cristin Bowe

Play Date Facilitator/Coach

Cristin is a mother of three, and her daughter, Olivia is on the Level 6 team. Cristin helps with the preschool aged playdates, field trips and occasionally open gyms. Her coaching accomplishments include: gymnastics instructor, swim team coach, swim lessons instructor and life guard.

A graduate of UWGB she holds a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation she worked as an Account Manager at Schneider National. Now a mother of three, Cristin stays involved by volunteering weekly in the schools and coaching gymnastics.


Karen Legois
Open Gym Facilitator

Karen's love of gymnastics and dance has been a long time family tradition. Her experience in dance and tumbling paired with her passion for children makes her a great coach for our Starz Tots program.

When she is not running open gym Karen works for a local dentist office as an Office Manager. You will also see Karen working many evenings in Starz front office and pro-shop.


Laurie Vandenlangenberg
Office Coordinator

Laurie has enjoyed watching gymnastics since she was a little girl and Mary Lou Retton won the gold. There is nothing she enjoys more, now, than watching her kids compete. Her daughters, Meghan and Molly are both on the competitive team as Level 5 and 4 gymnasts gand her son has been involved in the Blizzard football camps held at Starz, as well as various other sports. She loves being part of the Starz family and finds joy in seeing all of the athletes succeed and reach their goals.

Laurie has seen first-hand how the Starz motto ‘teaching kids the skills to compete in life’ has positively influenced her children and wants to share that experience with others. When she is not bragging to everyone she meets about the benefits of Starz, she likes to be behind the scenes and helps with various office responsibilities such as…Helping with the organization of Starz events: Recital, Memorial Day weekend, Christmas fun, Competitive Team meet schedule and communication.
