KENDRA LAMPHIER

HEAD COACH & GYM MANAGER

I have been involved in the sport of gymnastics for over 20 years and am honored to be able to share my knowledge, passion, and love for this sport with those in our community.  It is my mission to provide the maximum amount of opportunity through the sport of gymnastics to all of those that I have the honor of coaching, whether that be my athletes or staff.

I believe wholeheartedly that a positive, high-energy, and growth mindset culture is the key to a program where champions will thrive and grow.  I have experienced, firsthand, the many mental and physical benefits that gymnastics and fitness brings into the lives of those involved, and I am passionate about sharing these with the world.

Gymnastics is a fantastic vessel for young people to develop confidence, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, leadership skills, grit, and more.  It provides a space where those interested in bettering themselves can join in friendship and unite in the journey to become a stronger version of themselves.

Helping young people recognize that they are capable of more than what they thought was possible is one of my greatest joys in life.  Gymnastics is far from easy, and even the most talented athletes will encounter struggles throughout their gymnastics career.  Through these inevitable encounters with difficulty, the opportunity for growth arises!  I believe that all obstacles in life are opportunities for growth, and I love that gymnastics introduces this into the lives of our youth in a safe, fun, and rewarding way.

Each athlete’s journey is their own, and as a coach, I recognize that I am just a supporting guide for these young gymnasts.  I work to inspire and encourage our athletes to set goals for themselves with no consideration of fear, and to lay out the plan for them to follow so that they can achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Northwood University.  I have successfully grown gymnastics programs in Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.  I have coached many State and Regional Champions and have led the STARZ program as we were awarded the XCEL Program of the Year for Wisconsin in 2023.  I am USAG certified as a coach and Meet Director.

Every day that I have the honor of leading STARZ, I have an overwhelming feeling that “this is just the start”.  I believe that at STARZ, we have the opportunity to make the world a better place through the sport of gymnastics.  I hope to bring positive change to the gymnastics culture as a whole through leading by example in a way that puts the child first 100% of the time.

PRETEAM

Our Preteam is an INVITE ONLY program, designed to prepare students for a bright future on our Competitive Team.  Preteam students are non-competitive.  The purpose of this program is to help students lay the strong foundation that their future, competitive career will be built upon if they choose that path.

At STARZ, we know that a strong foundation for a competitive gymnast’s career includes a positive and confident mindset, a strong work ethic, physical strength and flexibility, and a competitive drive.  Through proper progressions and detailed focused training, we provide the path so that our Preteam students may build that foundation, physically and mentally all while having fun and learning the joys of gymnastics and hard work.

Preteam students practice twice a week for two hours.

If you are interested in our Preteam or Competitive Programs for your child, please reach out to our Competitive Director to set up a one-on-one evaluation by emailing:  team.starzgb@gmail.com

XCEL PROGRAM

The Xcel Program is one of the two competitive tracks that we offer here at STARZ.  The objective of the Xcel Program is to provide a positive, competitive experience for young athletes.

This program consists of five levels, including: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.  The Xcel Program is more flexible in regard to rules and requirements than the Developmental Program, so it allows athletes to have a lower number of training hours while still having a high-quality competitive experience.

Athletes in this program will train 5 – 9 hours/week, and compete in       7 – 8 competitions/year.  Training will run throughout the year, with the competitive season running January – April.  Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the State and Regional Competitions, depending on their level.

At STARZ, we know that competitive gymnastics offers an incredible opportunity for young gymnasts to grow as athletes as well as people.  We are committed to providing the most efficient, high energy, and positive training experience for each of our athletes so that they may take the sport as far as they choose.

DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM

The Developmental Program, formerly known as the “Junior Olympic” program, is one of the two competitive tracks that we offer here at STARZ.  The objective for the Developmental Program is to provide a path for athletes to follow to reach the highest levels of competitive gymnastics if they choose it.

This program is the path to competitive gymnastics at the collegiate level.  The high-level nature of this program requires athletes to train more hours in the gym than the other competitive tracks of the sport.

At STARZ, we use the Xcel levels called “Silver”, “Gold”, and “Platinum” as our introductory levels for the Developmental track.  After athletes acquire the skills necessary, they will go on to compete Levels 7 – 10.

Athletes in this program will train 9 – 20 hours/week and compete in      7 – 9 competitions/year.  Training will run throughout the year, with the competitive season running January – April.  Athletes will have the opportunity to compete at the State, Regional, and National Competitions depending on their level.
